Weekend Tappenings…

Posted by on Jun 5, 2014

“Summertime and the living’s easy.” It’s June and Summer is here, which means, along with the glorious return of the heat and humidity, there are events galore! Draft Line Brewing is opening at the end of the month, with more breweries on the way later this Summer. But, first thing’s first: let’s look at this weekend…

Yup, you read that correctly! It’s June, so we can start our weekends a day early and not feel badly about it. Tonight is the debut of the Wander Box at CAM Raleigh! It’s a solar-powered pop-up beer garden, stocked with twelve taps of barley, hops, and awesome! So, if you’re looking for something to do, head to W Martin Street tonight and grab a local, or not-so-local, pint and enjoy the evening.

Being the first Friday of the month can mean only one thing: Head to Downtown Raleigh to support the local art scene’s First Friday Event. And, of course, while you’re down there, hit up Tasty Beverage Co for the First Friday Fun Fest!

In Durham for the evening? Head to Fullsteam for some Summer Basil before catching the Bulls game, followed by some fireworks!

Today marks the Grand Opening of Brüeprint Brewing Company in the Peak City…yes, I just said that! The festivities kick off at noon and will be filled with a fantastic assortment of beer, food, and music, including Jack Hnatt & Friends, George Huntley, and Peak City Blues Project.

Food Trucks Sol Taco, Deli-Icious, Dump Pho King, Big Mike’s BBQ, Patrick Jane’s Gourmet Pizza, and Valentno’s will be in the house. Plus, a portion of the proceeds from this event will go to Prevent Blindness NC, which is just on more great reason to come on out!

Heading south of the Triangle? Make plans to stop by Blues and Brews in Fayetteville to sample over 100 different beers from NC and beyond!

It’s Rodeo day! Food Truck Rodeo that is, in good ole downtown Raleigh! You might be overwhelmed by the amount of good food and craft beer that will be available. Don’t worry though; get there early so you have time to eat more than once! Just remember to drink plenty of water; it’s gonna be a hot one! And drink responsibly! But, if you’ve consumed too much, Safe Ride Home NC is there for you!

No matter what you choose, as long as it includes great friends and NC Craft Beer, you can’t go wrong!

Check back with us next week as we continue to let you know “What’s Tappening…”

  1. With all the incredible craft beers made here in North Carolina, I’m not sure why anyone would want to try something non-local. I’m really excited to hear about these new breweries that are opening this summer (it truly is an incredible time if you’re a fan of craft beer). Looking forward to the next food truck rodeo coming up!
