Wow, can you believe we are already heading into the 3rd weekend in May? This month is really flying by and we are heading into a very exciting weekend for NCBeer, 919 Beer, and Craft Beer lovers across the Triangle. Without further delay, let’s get down to business!
Growlers and Growlers of Beers, OH MY! Today marks the much anticipated Grand Opening of the first Growler Filling Station in the region. Wait, did I hear that right? Growler Filling Station? Yes! Head up to Durham and check out Growler Grlz; They will be featuring 42 taps of deliciously fresh, hard to get(outside of going to the brewery), local and not so local Craft Beer. So wash out those empties you have building up in your garage, head on over and get filling! Don’t worry if you don’t have any empties; they’ve got you covered, offering both 32oz and 64oz options.
The weather is going to be fantastic Saturday, so get your yard work finished early! Once you’ve cleaned up, head down to Southern Pines for the 5th Annual Moore County Festival of Beers. Event begins at 3pm and featured breweries include Aviator, Big Boss, Bombshell, Double Barley, Lonerider, Oskar Blues, Railhouse Brewery, Triangle Wine and White Sheet. The Festival of Beers anticipates up to 20 North Carolina Breweries pouring over 40 craft beers. You will want to check on availability and purchase your event tickets online…according to the Chamber of Commerce this event has sold out the previous 4 years.
If you decide to stick around, then we suggest heading up to Durham’s American Tobacco Trail for the Durham Pub Crawl & Haunted Adventure (Only if you’re not afraid). Kicking off at 7:30 pm, this will feature four ghost stories, four pubs, and a whole lot of FUN! If you are looking for a unique downtown Durham experience, this is for you. This 2.5 hour walking tour covers approximately 1 mile. Stopping at four known paranormal locations, the tour tells the time honored haunted ghost story of Durham’s haunted buildings. You learn cool Tobacco Empire history, listen stories and folklore that will amaze you, and enjoy fun pub stops that only Durham can deliver!
Nothing finishes off the weekend like taking in a ballgame and this weekend is no exception! Head over to the DBAP and watch our beloved Bulls take on the Louisville Bats. The DBAP has completely revamped their entire Craft Beer line-up! For information on all of the goodness you can expect, check out this story. Game starts at 5pm but get there early and experience all the DBAP has to offer!
No matter what you choose, as long as it includes great friends and NC Craft Beer you can’t go wrong!
Check back with us next week as we continue to let you know “What’s tappening…”
